At the Last Minute

I am still doing the challenge. I was sitting here with my bowl of salad trying to eat it in a hurry before 8pm. I made it but I have the hiccups currently. Bummer.

A funny story. Jillian has been bringing friends everywhere we go. Today it was Diego from her favorite cartoon show. It happened to be his Birthday and she told everyone who would listen. She also likes to bring Agnes, from Despicable Me. She loves this movie and repeats lines from it. one of them is,"It is so fluffy I'm going to die". It is very funny to hear.

My hiccups are gone.

Growth

I want to be able to put pictures up but I still have not figured it out. I'm working on it but I just don't have enough time in one sitting to get it. My other family members said they can help me but we never seem to be able to find the right time together. Oh well it will happen soon...I hope.

Otherwise all things are good around the house. No one is sick today that is wonderful. The kids are still doing great on the no sugar. That is really exciting to see. I took Jamison and Jillian to the grocery store this week and we talked all about sugar. Jamison was asking if we could buy something. I would reply that it had sugar in it and we were trying not to eat it. He then would ask if it was good sugar or bad sugar. I wonder what the other Mom's thought of this conversation. We have been talking about good sugar in fruit and bad sugar in sweets. I think it's neat that they are learning and picking these things up. They are motivated to eating better. The older girls are watching how much water they drink in a day and how many vegetable and fruits they consume. I love all this new growth.

Saturday

This is our favorite song but only on Saturdays. We follow it's words pretty closely. I think it is a special day. I work on getting ready for Sunday. The family cleans the house. I make sure we have everything we need for tomorrow and if we don't I consider if it is necessary or not. If we need it off to the store I go, usually with someone in tow. I usually end up buying more than needed because they always find something that they absolutely need. I hate the stores on Saturday. They are soo much busier than usual. I don't brush the clothes but wash and iron if need too. We don't shine shoes but dust them off because we keep them in the garage. We have a shoeless house. We take our showers and we are ready for tomorrow.

I have a few more things to do because I will be away from home tomorrow. My friend had surgery on Thursday and needs help. Her sister was able to come help but leaves in the morning. She has two kids 6 and 3. I am going to help her all day and stay the night so I can get the kids off to school. I plan on making some homemade goodies. She will love it. She is a hard working divorced Mom. She is a great friend and I learn a lot from her. I'm looking forward to the time well spent on my Sabbath Day.

Tired

I heard somewhere that blogs are not always true feelings. I will just say that I'm Tired. Real Tired. I have been working out at the gym 5 mornings now for 45 minutes and I'm Tired. My legs are Tired. My head is Tired. I don't know why but it is. My upper arms and shoulders are Tired. Do you get it yet. I'm Tired. Real Tired.

This is not helping with the my productivity today. I need to get the house ready for the market...yes again! I am much more motivated to sell it this time and want to sell it SOOOON! I need to get up and go but I'm Tired. yeah yeah I know get over it.

For what it's worth I'm glad I'm working out again. I will do it again tomorrow.

Music

Most people know that I do not like music. It gives me an instant headache. No...it doesn't matter what type it is. My kids however love music and we sing at church a lot. To me it seems all the time. My current calling is primary teacher and we sing a lot. Each year the primary kids perform songs that they practiced during the year in a program. The songs are the same in each ward with a couple choices that the primary chorister can chose. I usually purchase the cd at Deseret Book, usually under $20.00. However, I found out you can download the songs from the church website for free. They have all the primary songs (and hymns for that matter) for us to use. I was so excited to save a little money. Why am I talking about this? I have them on my laptop (which is kept in the kitchen) and I have been playing the music non-stop this morning. It was lovely to have a nice quiet background noise while getting the kids ready for school and while cleaning up the house. I will do this again, most definitely.

Again

We went to the doctor's today. AGAIN!

It was Jessica this time but for her left wrist. AGAIN!

She was on the way to school and slipped on the ice. She happens to carry a brace in her backpack which probably helped with the swelling. It isn't broken but she is in a lot of pain. The doctor suggested since this is the sixth time this has happened we should think about physical therapy for her. He is probably correct in this thinking since it will happen AGAIN!

I am not at all surprised that this happened AGAIN!

Really AGAIN!

I love my Jessica but this is getting out of hand. haha I made a funny.

Day Two

The things I need to accomplish each day for the wellness challenge is as follows:
1. 48-oz. of water
2. 45 minutes of exercise
3. 2 vegetable and 2 fruits
4. no soda or fast food
5. no eating after 8pm
6. no sugar or sweets
7. show appreciation for someone
8. 15 minutes of scripture reading
9. journal entry (or blog entry)
10. a personal goal (mine is clean dishes before bed)

I got 10 points yesterday and going for 10 more today. Jessica and Jaelynn have decided to do the challenge with me. I think that is best thing EVER. Jackson and Jamison have decided to go with no sugar for the challenge. I am amazed that they chose this on their own. I will reward them with Pokemon cards when we are done. They are very excited.

Wellness Challenge

Today is day one of a challenge I've decided to do. At church the Relief Society is doing a wellness challenge. I was not very excited about doing it but I went to the first meeting and walked away feeling discouraged. I decided I didn't need anymore failure in my life so I decided not to try at all. Well, that didn't last because I felt this small feeling and by the next day it was a huge feeling. I have been asking my sweet husband what I can do to make myself happier with the things I have been dealt. I think this was the answer to my prayer. A kick in the pants if you will. I am going to do it and do it big.

Fire Alarm

I need to set this story up a little bit. With a houseful of people with coughs I decided to buy a couple more humidifiers. We have one that has been used a few times and two new ones. The first night they worked fine. The next night one of them didn't seem to be working properly. This third night I made sure the water was emptied and refilled, plugged in and ready to go. They seemed to be worker and we all went to bed.

TWO HOURS LATER...

The fire alarm went off.

We have 5 alarms upstairs all wired together. It was LOUD. We unplugged the humidifiers opened the bedroom doors and 5 minutes later the alarms went off. We had two kids sleep through this #2 and #5. My heart was racing and I was thinking, " Really. I don't need to add this to my list. My house is on Fire." All was just fine and the BAD humidifier is going back to the store. I was able to get back to sleep but only after I decided to start my blog with this funny story.
